The Mid-Atlantic Weekend Warriors are a group of "Normal" guys who are car enthusiasts and respect the education and skills needed to drive fast on the weekends. Sharing lessons learned and leaning new lessons along with the camaraderie make this a great group to be a part of!
What a great weekend. The right company really makes all of the difference!
ReplyDeleteI agree Paul, and Di still needs to pick your pea brain about getting into a Bimmer....
ReplyDeleteLove the group of guys and gals we have in our group, know when you hit Summit you can stay in the Villas here.
How was everyone's drive home? I had to stop once I got to Rt. 58 and turn around one of my brake pads. No talking while I'm changing pads anymore.
ReplyDeleteNice pics Ken. That was a good idea to let Doug dry the track for you! What's your take on the Full Course? How did your car perform compared to last year at S.P.?
ReplyDeleteWish I had installed my camera for the 2nd and 3rd run on Sunday. Rick followed me around for the 2nd round and I followed him on the 3rd. We were flying. Only car that passed us on the last run was a C6 Z06, with suspension mods, and modded Camaro SS that sounded like it had no exhaust.
ReplyDeleteI still did not get to hit my 150mph on the back straight, 145-146 was as far as I went.
Glad that this turned out to be a group outing. Makes the trip even more fun. Sorry you were not there Harry.
My ride home was nice and smooth. I was eating a snack at home by 10:00.
Oh, Ken, make sure you post the vid of me passing you so fast your number blew off.
Haha, yeah Ken and Rodney definitely had us when the track was wet on Sat. It was awesome having that many people to hang out with.
ReplyDeleteSunday was awesome, Doug and myself did a replay of follow the leader from Summit for the last two sessions. Both sessions were a blast, with no issues, and no CMC guy to slow me down this time!!!
Ride home was easy just cruised and got back around 11 or so.
Greg, you put the pad on backwards???? We heard the phone call in the pits.
Yeah Doug, let me look for that video.
ReplyDeleteCar is fixed, turned out to be the Mafia had gotten wet, or possibly oily, and was not functioning. Cleaned off the connector and ALL IS OK!! I knew it was not running right at all on Sunday Morning, and I was still holding off that pesky SRT-4. I sure hope is brings it to SP.
Good trip home, no issues, home by 8:30 after stopping for some dinner at Craker Barrel.
Glad it was a minor repair, Ken. And at Summit you can compare old to new.
ReplyDeleteYeah Rick, no more gabbing when I change pads. I have a trick that has me put a pad in backwards to pry on it, and I've never forgotten to flip it before. I could tell when I got to Rt 58. So I pulled over in a closed gas station and jacked it up and flipped it. I kept waiting for the police to pull over to see if I was changing a flat, and I'd say "Nope, just changing my brake pads".
It's 270 miles from VIR's gate to my garage.
